1000 Watt Microwave With Air Fry: Which Combos Have 1000 W
For a 1000 watt microwave that also air-fries, buy the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA. Toshiba itself says 1000 W, and the body is only 11.8 in tall. Several combos have the same watts, so size and the space around it should make your choice.

The short version
Buy the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA: Toshiba says 1000 W and 1.0 cu ft (the size printed on the box), and it is only 11.8 in tall. Pick the Toshiba ML-EC42P if you want more room inside. Pick the Panasonic HomeChef if you want an inverter and have headroom. If you never air-fry, you do not need a combo.
Most people who search for a 1000 watt microwave want food hot, fast. A microwave air fryer combo also crisps it, in the same oven space.

How sure is each 1000 W number?
A listing can say anything. A company page or a manual is firmer.
| Model | Output | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Toshiba ML2-EC10SA | 1000 W | Toshiba's product page |
| Toshiba ML-EC42P | 1000 W | Toshiba's product page |
| Panasonic HomeChef | 1000 W, inverter | Manual of the sister model NN-CD87 |
| Ninja Crispi MW101 | 1000 W | Listings |
| Galanz ToastWave | 1000 W, inverter | Galanz product sheet |
| West Bend WBAF130K3S | 1000 W | The seller |
The GE GCST10A1 is rated 1,050 W by GE. The Breville Combi Wave is 1100 W, and the Sharp SMC0985KS is 900 W. The wattage guide explains output, input and heater watts.
Which of these should I look at first?
Toshiba ML2-EC10SA*. Toshiba says 1000 W, a 12.4 in turntable and 10 air fry presets. Toshiba lists 18 in deep, but the Amazon listing says 16.4 in. Measure with the bigger number. We only saw its clearance in a third-party summary, so check the printed manual. More in the Toshiba overview.
Toshiba ML-EC42P. The ML-EC42P* has the same 1000 W and a bigger inside: 1.5 cu ft and a 13.6 in turntable. It takes up more counter, at 21.77 in wide and 21.38 in deep. Measure first.
Panasonic HomeChef. The HomeChef* listing names the NN-CV87QS. The manual we read is for the sister model NN-CD87. It asks for 6 in of space on top. With its 13.5 in height, that adds up to 19.5 in (computed), more than a common 18 in gap. It also asks for its own circuit. Never block the vents.
Ninja Crispi MW101. The MW101* is listed at 1000 W as a microwave. The 1700 W Ninja gives is for air frying, not microwaving. It is about 14.1 in tall as listed, and we have no clearance data. Choose it for the flatbed. See the Ninja Crispi Microwave page.
What else should I check?
- Height. It runs from 11.8 in on the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA to about 14.1 in on the Ninja. The clearance guide has the numbers we could confirm.
- Depth. More than 20 in leaves little of a counter free.
- Your circuit. See circuits and amps.
- Racks. They usually stay out when you microwave. GE's manual says so.
If two listings both say 1000 W, compare height and depth next. The watts match, but the body may not fit under your cabinet.

Quick questions
Is 1000 watts good for a microwave?
For most kitchens, yes. Good Housekeeping says you want at least 1,000 W for more varied cooking. The combos here run from 900 to 1100 W. Watts say nothing about air frying, which uses a separate heater and fan.
Does 1000 watts mean output or input?
It should mean output, the power that reaches the food. But check the spec table. Panasonic's NN-CD87 manual lists 1000 W of cooking power and 1,110 W it draws from the wall. So the appliance uses more than the headline number.
How many amps does a 1000 watt microwave air fryer use?
More than 1000 W suggests, and it changes by mode. Panasonic's NN-CD87 manual lists 9.5 A for microwaving and 11.4 A with the heaters. Check the label or manual for your model.
Do I need a combo if I only want a 1000 watt microwave?
No. A plain microwave heats food. A combo makes sense when you also want to crisp food and have room for the taller body.
