Sizes come from the brands' pages. The Ninja comes from its Amazon listing only. The Panasonic comes from its sister model's sheet and a retailer page. Check any pick with our size guide before you order.

What is good and bad about each pick?

Most kitchens: Toshiba ML2-EC10SA. A full 1.0 cu ft and 1000 W in a low body, with 10 air fry presets, says Toshiba. The weak spot is depth. Toshiba says 18 in and Amazon says 16.4 in, so plan for the bigger one. Our Toshiba guide sorts out the similar names.

Small kitchen: Sharp SMC0985KS*. At 19.6 in wide and 15.77 in deep, it takes up the least counter of any model we could confirm on a product sheet. The trade-off is 0.9 cu ft, a 10.6 in turntable and 900 W. See small kitchen combos.

Big family: Toshiba ML-EC42P*. The biggest inside here at 1.5 cu ft, and still 12.87 in tall. It is 21.38 in deep, so it leaves little of a typical counter free. Our large family guide has other options.

Open space above: Panasonic HomeChef 4-in-1*. Good Housekeeping's best overall, with a 1000 W inverter microwave. The listing says NN-CV87QS, and the manual we read is for its sister model, the NN-CD87. That manual asks for 6 in on top and its own 15 A or 20 A, 120 V circuit. Read our Panasonic page first.

Flat tray: Ninja Crispi MW101*. No turntable, and a 5.5 qt glass basket, says Ninja. It is about 14.1 in tall as listed, the tallest here. See our Ninja Crispi Microwave page.

Premium: Breville Combi Wave*. 19 presets, a crisp pan and a trivet, says Breville, but it is 20.1 in deep. The 1700 W in some listings is not its microwave power. A piece of its US manual gives 1100 W output and 1200 W input, and we could not read the full manual. More on our Breville page.

Good Housekeeping's best value is a GE 4-in-1, linked there as GCST10A1WSS. The listing above is the black GCST10A1WBB. Don't use specs from GE's older JES1109RRSS, which GE says is no longer made.

Do the published tests settle it?

Not fully. Good Housekeeping's April 2026 roundup checked nine combos for even heating, popcorn, defrosting, toast, a 9 in cake and air-fried wings. It names Panasonic best overall, GE best value and a Toshiba 7-in-1 most versatile, with no numeric scores. We could not tie that Toshiba to one model number.

It also doesn't compare a combo with a basket fryer. If crisping is your main goal, read combo versus basket air fryer.

What should I do next?

Measure first, using the fit check on our homepage. If nothing rules it out, buy the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA. It is the pick you are least likely to regret under ordinary cabinets.
