BLACK+DECKER Microwave Air Fryer: Two Models and Why Ratings Mislead
BLACK+DECKER has two microwave air fryers on Amazon: the 0.9 cu ft ES9P032NA 5-in-1 for the counter and the 1.5 cu ft EC942K6CE-SS for above the stove. Both can microwave and air fry, as listed. We only have listing data, though, and the rating totals on their listings are shared with other products. They are options, not picks.

The short version
The ES9P032NA 5-in-1 is a budget countertop combo: 0.9 cu ft, 900 W and listed at 19.5 × 14.5 × 11.4 in. The EC942K6CE-SS is a fixed over-the-range unit. We couldn't read a brand page for either, so confirm the size first. For a small kitchen with brand data behind it, buy the Sharp SMC0985KS instead.

BLACK+DECKER is a familiar name on small kitchen appliances. For these two microwaves, though, we found no BLACK+DECKER product page we could read, and we couldn't establish who makes them. Everything below comes from the Amazon listings unless we say otherwise, and each product shows "Seller data only". See how we compare for what that label means.

What about the ES9P032NA 5-in-1?
This is what most people searching for a BLACK+DECKER air fry microwave mean. Its appeal is the listed 14.5 in depth, which would take up the least counter among our small combos if it holds, plus a budget price class. The 11.3 in turntable as listed would also beat the 10.6 in plate on Sharp's small model.

- Amazon listing. Depth as listed. An excerpt of a third-party manual summary says 15.55 in, so allow for the larger figure.
- Listed at 14.5 in deep, though another source says 15.55 in
- Microwave, air fryer, combi, bake and roast, as listed
- Depth conflict: 14.5 in on the listing, 15.55 in in a third-party manual summary. Plan with the bigger number
- Width and depth appear only in listings, not on a company page we could read
- 900 W microwave
Now the gaps:
- Depth. A third-party manual summary we saw in a search says 15.55 in, not 14.5 in. That is a full inch, on the one number that makes this model special. Check it first.
- Accessories. The listing names a bake tray and two grill racks. A preview of a Spanish manual edition names only a glass tray and turntable ring. We can't tell whether that manual is complete or matches your unit.
- Power figures. That preview also shows 900 W with a microwave input of 1450 W, so the 900 W is an output figure. It lists 11 power levels where the listing says 10.
- Space around it. We found no figures we could trust, so don't assume a blanket rule. Check the manual in the box against our size guide.
The first stop for an owner is the booklet in the box. Our manuals page explains where to look if it has gone missing.
What about the EC942K6CE-SS above the stove?
This one replaces a range hood. At a listed 13.9 in deep it is the shallowest over-the-range unit we have sizes for, which helps in a tight spot. Its inside is the smaller 1.5 cu ft. Installation is the real decision, so read over-the-range installation before buying. Many people buy these from an appliance dealer, and our over-the-range page sets out the alternatives. We haven't checked what commission applies to this listing.
Why do the ratings mislead?
The rating totals on BLACK+DECKER's listings cover more than one product. The figure on the 5-in-1 matches the one on the over-the-range unit and on a plain 1.1 cu ft microwave, which has no air fry mode. So a big number there says little about air frying on this model, or about whether its size is right. Shared totals are common, and you can often spot them by comparing two listings from one brand.
Why it works
- Budget price class for the 5-in-1
- Takes up the least counter among our small combos, if the listing holds
- Five functions and air fry presets as listed
- An over-the-range version with air fry as listed
Where it falls short
- No brand page we could read
- A depth conflict on the feature that matters most
- Accessory and power details differ between sources
- Rating totals shared across products
Which one should I buy?
The 5-in-1 suits a shallow counter and a tight budget, if you can confirm the depth and are fine with thin documentation. The over-the-range unit suits someone replacing an existing unit in the same opening, who has compared it with dealer options.
The listings state a one-year warranty. We found no BLACK+DECKER parts list for either model, so ask the seller before you rely on replacement racks.

Quick questions
Is the BLACK+DECKER 5-in-1 a real microwave air fryer?
Yes, going by its listing. The ES9P032NA is listed with five functions: microwave, air fryer, combi with grill and convection, bake and roast. It lists 900 W output and 11 air fry presets. A preview of its manual shows air fry and combi on the control panel. We haven't read a BLACK+DECKER product page for it.
Why do BLACK+DECKER rating totals look so high?
Because they are shared. The total on the 5-in-1 listing matches the one on the over-the-range unit and on a plain BLACK+DECKER microwave. So it doesn't tell you how buyers rate this exact combo. We don't quote these figures on this site, and we wouldn't use them as evidence when you compare models.
How deep is the ES9P032NA?
The listing says 14.5 in, and a third-party manual summary we saw in a search says 15.55 in. We couldn't confirm either from BLACK+DECKER. If that inch decides whether it fits your counter, plan with the bigger number and check the box size when it arrives.
Can I install the over-the-range model myself?
It is a fixed installation that replaces a hood, with mounting, venting and wiring questions. We haven't read its installation instructions. Follow the manual, and use a qualified installer for any wiring or venting changes. Our over-the-range page explains what to check, and that many people buy this type from a dealer.
