Ninja Crispi Microwave MW101: Size, Claims and Who It Suits
The Ninja Crispi Microwave MW101 is a real microwave air fryer combo, with a flat tray instead of a turntable and a 5.5 qt glass basket, says Ninja. Buy it if you have plenty of room above the counter and like cooking wide, flat batches. Ninja's glass Crispi air fryers are a different product and can't microwave.

The short version
Choose the MW101 if you want a flat tray, a glass basket and air frying in one box, and you have room above it. At about 14.1 in tall as listed, it is the tallest countertop body in our comparison, and the UK edition of its owner's guide describes 24 in from worktop to cabinets. Short on headroom? Start with a lower model.
What is on this page
The MW101 is a genuine microwave air fryer combo. It has the part that does the microwaving, plus a top heater and fan for air frying. The difference is the floor. There is no turntable, so wide, flat food gets more room, and air frying happens in a glass basket. That makes it our flat-tray pick. It isn't our best overall, because the body is tall and we couldn't confirm its US clearance figures.

Is this the Crispi that microwaves?
Yes, and it is the only one. Ninja's release calls it the brand's first-ever countertop microwave, launched on 16 July 2026. The FN101 and AS101 are glass air fryers that can't microwave. Their glass is only microwave-safe. See which Ninja Crispi has a microwave, and the MW101 versus the Crispi air fryers for a point-by-point look.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it?
Why it works
- You want a flat tray instead of a turntable
- You like the idea of air frying in a glass basket
- You have open space or a high cabinet above the spot
- You will use air fry often enough to justify a premium price class
Where it falls short
- Your cabinets sit a common 18 in above the counter
- You mostly reheat and defrost
- You need the least counter taken up on a narrow counter
- You want figures from a US manual before you buy, since we couldn't read one
What are the specs, and how far can I trust them?
| Spec | Figure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Outside size (W × D × H) | About 20.3 × 17.46 to 17.56 × 14.1 in | Listings and excerpts; SharkNinja's page could not be read directly |
| Size inside | About 0.9 cu ft; 5.5 qt basket | Cubic feet from retailers; basket from Ninja |
| Microwave power | 1000 W | Listings |
| Air fry power | 1700 W, up to 450°F | Ninja |
| Functions | 14-in-1 | Listing for the black version |
At 120 V, 1700 W is about 14.2 A (computed), close to the limit of a 15 A circuit. A kettle on the same circuit could trip the breaker. Check the US owner's guide for its circuit advice, and ask an electrician if you are unsure.
What do Ninja's claims compare against?
- "40% more usable surface" is versus a 0.9 cu ft turntable microwave in the release. Another Ninja text names 1.1 cu ft. Neither compares with other flat-tray models or bigger combos.
- "Frozen to crispy" rests on a footnote about air fry wattage, 1700 W versus 1500 W on the FN101. That is a wattage comparison, not a cooking test.
- "Up to 60% faster" is versus a conventional oven, not versus another microwave.
- "Non-toxic" is Ninja's description of its glass basket, along with PFAS and PTFE free. It is Ninja's claim, and we haven't checked it.
- Meals "for eight to 10 people" is Ninja's wording. We found no independent check.
Will it fit under my cabinets?
Settle this first. The only owner's guide we could read is the UK edition for the MW101 Series, hosted by a UK retailer. It asks for at least 30 cm (11.81 in) from any top surface and 15 cm (5.9 in) from any side. It describes 61 cm (24 in) from worktop to the bottom of the cabinets, and says the unit should not be wall mounted or installed in a cabinet.
UK and US versions differ, so these aren't confirmed US figures. They are still a strong reason to read the US owner's guide before you order, and to never block the vents. Our clearance guide sets this beside other models, and the size guide explains what to measure.
Enter your space and we’ll show which models fit. We use the sizes each brand publishes. It also needs some air around it, so check the manual too.
Many kitchens have about 18 in here, but measure yours to be sure.
Enter all three measurements and the list appears here.
How do I use and clean it?
These points also come from the UK guide, so check them against your own. The glass dish goes in the dishwasher and the crisper tray is hand-wash only. Air frying needs the glass dish. A built-in clean cycle runs for 20 minutes with water in the basket, after which you wipe the walls. The guide also says heavy splatter or buildup can cause smoke during air frying, and that this usually means it is time to clean.
What does a review say?
Search excerpts of TechRadar's review describe crisp wings, fries that needed extra minutes, and a caution about small kitchens. We couldn't read the full article, and it appears to cover the UK model, which has different air fry power. See how we compare for how we treat excerpts.
Does it come in other colors?
The silver version above has color siblings: the MW101 in black* and the MW101 in Cyberspace*. Prices can differ by color, so compare the listings. Our colors guide looks at finishes across brands.

Quick questions
Is the Ninja Crispi Microwave worth its premium price class?
It can be, if the flat tray and glass basket are what you want and you have the headroom. You pay for that layout, not for a bigger or lower body. If your combo must sit under cabinets, a lower model such as the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA is the safer buy. We found no controlled test showing it crisps better than cheaper combos or basket fryers.
How big is the Ninja Crispi Microwave?
As listed, about 20.3 in wide, 17.46 to 17.56 in deep and 14.1 in tall. We couldn't read SharkNinja's own page directly, and excerpts of it differ slightly, so check the listing. Retailers list about 0.9 cu ft, while the Ninja text we read gives only the 5.5 qt basket and no cubic feet.
Does it have a turntable?
No. Ninja describes a flat design, and the UK owner's guide labels the floor as the microwave flatbed. Ninja says this gives 40% more usable surface versus a 0.9 cu ft turntable microwave. Another Ninja text names 1.1 cu ft as the baseline instead, so treat the figure as a claim with a moving comparison.
Can the Ninja Crispi glass air fryers microwave food?
No. The FN101 and AS101 are glass air fryers that can't microwave. Their glass containers are microwave-safe, which means the glass can go into a microwave you already own. Only the MW101, launched on 16 July 2026, microwaves. Check the model number on the listing before you buy.
