Samsung Microwave With Air Fry: Countertop and Over-the-Range
Samsung sells at least two microwaves with air fry in the US: the over-the-range Bespoke ME90H1780R with Air Fry Max, and the 1.2 cu ft countertop MC12DB8700CK in black glass. Samsung's own page showed the countertop model as unavailable when we read it, and no Samsung air fry model turned up in our Amazon research. Check stock first, or look at other brands.

The short version
Samsung's microwave air fryers are the over-the-range ME90H1780R, at 1.7 cu ft and 950 W per its manual, and the countertop MC12DB8700CK at 1.2 cu ft. Samsung's page showed the countertop model as not available for delivery or pickup. Our Amazon research found neither, so buy from a dealer, or look at the Toshiba ML2-EC10SA for a counter.
Air fry isn't common in Samsung's microwave range. On the US microwave page we read, one of six over-the-range models in the comparison mentions it. Our overview of all brands shows who else sells a true combo.

What does the ME90H1780R manual say?
This is the only Samsung manual we read in full, from a copy on a retailer's site.
- How it air fries. "The microwave mode is not used." Air Fry Max runs on hot air, and you can set 350, 375, 400 or 425°F.
- Accessories. Frozen fries, wedges and tots go on a greased ceramic enamel tray on the high rack. The Air Fry Max Tray is listed as sold separately.
- Power. It lists 1700 W for the microwave and 1800 W for the heater as power use, and 950 W as microwave output. It asks for its own branch circuit with a grounded outlet of at least 15 A and at most 20 A. Our wattage guide explains why those figures differ.
- Foil. It warns against covering racks or any other part of the oven with metal foil, because the oven will overheat. Our foil and metal guide compares other brands.
Samsung's overview says Air Fry Max "cooks 15% faster with no preheat." We couldn't read what that is compared with, so treat it as a claim, not a cooking result. We found no controlled test against a basket fryer.
Why it works
- A readable manual that sets out temperatures and accessories
- Air Fry Max has a named temperature range
- Over-the-range version saves counter space
Where it falls short
- Not in our Amazon research, so the links below are other brands
- The countertop page showed it as unavailable
- We found no wattage on Samsung's countertop page
- Abt's spec table says no to convection, while the manual lists a convection bake mode, so go by the manual
Who should buy one?
The ME90H1780R suits you if you are replacing an over-the-range unit and like the Samsung range. It needs a proper installation, so read our over-the-range guide first. Many people buy these from a dealer, so see where to buy a combo. The countertop model suits you only if a store actually has it, since Samsung's page offered a stock alert when we read it.
What can I buy on Amazon instead?
If you wanted the Samsung for a counter, start here. Both have brand data we could read. Our best combos has more, and the countertop guide covers fit.

Quick questions
Does Samsung make a microwave with an air fryer?
Yes. Samsung's US site names the Bespoke Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with Air Fry Max, ME90H1780RAA, and a 1.2 cu ft countertop model with Air Fry, MC12DB8700CKAA. Other Samsung over-the-range models in the comparison on its microwave page don't mention air fry, so read the model name closely before you buy.
How do I air fry in a Samsung microwave?
On the ME90H1780R, its manual says to place the food on the tray or rack, touch the Air Fry Max button, choose 350, 375, 400 or 425°F, and set the time. Air Fry Max uses hot air, and the microwave isn't used in this mode. We didn't read a manual for the countertop model, so check yours.
Do I need the Samsung Air Fry Max Tray?
Not to start, going by the manual. It lists the Air Fry Max Tray as sold separately, while the frozen food programs we read use the ceramic enamel tray on the high rack. Abt's listing also shows a ceramic enamel tray in the box. Check the accessory guide in your manual if you plan to air fry often.
What about Samsung's 32 liter combi models with air fry?
We didn't see those on the Samsung US pages we read. Liter sizes and the combi name usually point to other markets, where voltage and models can differ. In the US, look for a 120 V model on Samsung's US site, and check that the listing gives its size in cubic feet.
